Upon first meeting this family, I was instantly smitten. Heather (the momma) is so real and so warm. The kids are were so cooperative, which made the session so quick – which wasn’t necessarily a good thing because I would have liked to spend all day with them. Dad wasn’t even negative about the photos; in fact, he was smiley and positive – which was a huge added bonus.
Let me just tell you why all this is important.
Heather was diagnosed with not one, but two different cancers over the last year or so. When she was telling me her story, she didn’t complain; she didn’t wallow in self-pity or the drama of the situation. She just said, “you know, if it’s not one thing, it’s always something else.” She’s got this amazing attitude; this amazing perspective. She’s inspiring, she’s kind, she’s fun. She’s not wasting her cancer, she’s using it – she’s learning from it, she’s growing through it.
And seriously, guys, can you handle how cute her family is?
