business, personal, christmas

Guys – I have really failed at blogging this year. Let me tell you (and me) why I need to blog.

  1. My most important reason for blogging is because I like to tell my clients what I love so much about them. I like to give them an outsider’s perspective because it’s always nice and also very rare to have someone give you a tiny bit of homage. I also like to share my favorite photos from their session, duh.
  2. The secondary reason is because it’s good for my business. People find photographers by looking on the web. They check out all the photographers and choose one that best meets their needs. I strongly encourage this. You should pick someone who’s style you like and who’s personality seems like a good fit and also find something that works with your budget.
  3. This is actually part 2a – people find you on the web based on your web presence. You are supposed to change your website as often as possible to increase your visibility on search engines. You are supposed to link other businesses and have them link you back; you are supposed to encourage interaction. You are supposed to write certain words and lots of other nitty gritty and blah, blah, blah. I hate this part of it – can someone please just work this all out for me because it’s booooring and tedious and if you know me, you know two things: I hate tedious and I hate The Red Hot Chili Peppers.

So, why have I not been blogging? This year has been a busy business year for me, but not SO busy that I couldn’t have taken time to blog. But I have my family and my sanity and both of those things are high on my priority list. So, I made the choice to be home when I could.  So I take care of my clients 100% and then the rest of the time is family/sanity.

But I’m going to work on it because I miss it and I want to pay you all your due homage because I really do love and appreciate North Dakota, and how you have all supported my business over the past NINE YEARS.

So let’s get down to the brass tacks (or is it tax), as my mother-in-law likes to say…are you reading my posts? Or do you just look at them on Facebook? The more you look, comment, and share, then I’m not just speaking into a black abyss and instead I’m talking to a real person and showing a real person real photos. So, would you do me a solid and post a comment every once in a while? I’d love to hear from you.

Let’s start with Christmas – what are your favorite things about the holiday? What do you do with your family? I LOVE Christmas, it’s always been my favorite holiday. My family just hangs out all day and eats good food and stays comfy and usually we’ll play a game. Nothing exciting, but since I love my family so much, it’s perfect. This is a photo of my girls last Christmas – just an impromptu photo on Christmas day because the weather was perfect and buffalo plaid is just so good.

And lastly, I really do appreciate how you guys have all supported my business. I know there are lots of options and I’m always honored when you choose me. So, thank you. And merry Christmas.snow-photographer

And just a reminder – just because it’s too cold right now to go outside, doesn’t mean that snow pictures are out of the question all winter – I’ve already done two awesome snow sessions this month and its SO worth it – I promise.

Trudi Grandbois - You are one of my favorites!! Enjoy reading your posts!

Christmas is my favorite holiday, LOVE everything about it! We travel (usually drive) from TX to ND and MN to visit both our families for the holiday. We usually spend the days relaxing with family, eating, more eating and playing games! Sometimes we go ice fishing, as well! Merry Christmas!

Mandy - I love everything about Christmas! We spend the day at my moms eating, playing games and playing with toys all the kids got. Our family started a new tradition and we spend 4 or 5 days in Minnesota with my fiancées family doing the exact same thing we do at my moms.

Natalie Moss - Mandi, I just want to thank you for doing what you do! You did a phenomenal job at my wedding. My favorite thing was how easy you made it for us to just be ourselves. I hope we can do more sessions in the future!

P.S. My favorite thing about the holidays is spending hours on Christmas day opening presents and just hanging out in our PJ’s
